Can a town of Autonomy Keep Me FOM rent my house?
I own a rental home in an upstairs apartment that I rent. The people sent me a notice saying that the home must be occupied by their owners to rent the second floor apt. I have tenants in both units. Affirm this ordinance was passed in 1995 before I bought the house. My lawyer thinks the rule is illegal, and intends to sue. But this will take me from 5000 to $ 8000 and 12 to 18 months to come to court. If I knew I would win I would. But having been involved in property lawsuits before, I do not trust any judge to rule on what should be right. Do I have a good case?
What state or county? The rules of self-government of the people on the network say that I'm going to look up.
