Hawaii or Florida: Where should you retire?
If you are preparing for retirement, one of the most important decisions you need make is where you live. Will you continue to stay in your current home, or is your dream of retiring somewhere warm?

Two of the most Popular retirement in the United States include the Southwest Florida and Hawaii. Both offer mild weather, breathtaking views and beautiful beach. Its waters are warm colors bright, the sand is white and powder, and offer as the summer temperatures, most of the year.
SW Florida and Hawaii are similar at first sight, but how a retiree to choose which to go? Everything really depends on what you are looking for in terms of cost of living and real estate values, geography and climate, companies and medical services, and lifestyle.
Real estate values and Cost of Living
The cost of living in Southwest Florida is certainly cheaper than Hawaii. Commodities such as food and gas have a higher price in the islands because most things have to be sent there. For your own nature as an island state, Hawaii is separated from the rest of the country, so that many more expensive items.
Hawaii is known for having some of the properties most expensive real estate, although there are more affordable properties such as condominiums and older homes available. If you are planning to buy a house right in the beach, be prepared to pay a fortune for it.
Florida has its share of the homes of several million dollars as well, and as Hawaii, beachfront properties Florida is expensive. However, there are properties available at a discounted price in the Sunshine State. Food, gasoline and other basic costs of living are more in line with the rest of the nation.
In terms of real estate values, the housing market in Florida is one of the most affected in terms of execution mortgage. There are deals to be had, if you are a buyer, but sellers are having a hard time downloading their homes. Hawaii property values are not almost as much affected by foreclosures, and properties are continuing to sell.
Geography and Climate
Southwest Florida is the dream of a bather. Temperatures are very mild throughout the winter, but it can be unbearably hot and humid in the summer.
In Hawaii, however, temperatures remain fairly constant throughout the year, usually in the mid 70's. There is also a wonderful breeze that keeps the residents feel comfortable even in the warmer months.
In terms of geography, Florida is fairly flat and uninteresting a bit as soon as you move away from water. Hawaii on the other hand, features beautiful mountains and magnificent scenery everywhere. Florida is also more vulnerable to strong hurricanes that develop along the Gulf. Hawaii is not immune to storms, but their impact is often less dramatic than along the coast of Florida.
Services & Amenities
Hawaii has fewer shops and services on the mainland, but all their needs can be seen on the island of Oahu. SW Florida will be more convenient simply in terms the wide variety of shopping, entertainment and transportation options. Honolulu also have more or less everything you need, as you would find in any large city.
Lifestyle
Florida cities are very exciting. The traffic is heavier, and people are bustling about. The lifestyle in Hawaii without But it is very relaxed. business suits can be saved, and can leave many of their efforts behind. The pace is slower in Oahu, and communities are more united. A warning though, is that some people have the "island fever" and the need to visit the mainland from time to time. The area may be a little claustrophobic for some, so it is important to once or twice a year for clarity and renewed his love of life on the island.

Florida is a wonderful retirement destination for many retirees. It is convenient and easy for family members to get to, with beautiful views of the Gulf, and a lower cost of living Compared to the islands. Hawaii is for those who can afford to pay a little more for your version of paradise. The people are friendly, the incomparable landscape and the climate is one of the most enviable in the world. It all depends on what is important to you. If you like urban life, then Florida is perhaps the best bet. If you're looking to get away from everything, while still being within easy reach of the services you need, Hawaii is your golden ticket to retirement.
