What happened to glass milk bottles?
When I was a child, the milk is sold in glass bottles (I guess) were re-used. Now is sold in plastic containers and piles of garbage continue to grow. Why get rid of glass bottles, and will make a comeback?
In Australia, they found that the collection, inspection (looking for cracks and chips), santising, etc was too expensive and could buy boxes of plastic or board at prices much lower. I remember the glass bottles with foil lids with great fondness. The bottles were delivered early and magpies used to stick their beaks through the tapas and drinks cream!
