Figurine Ornament

What types of ordiments, figures, or the material can be used inside a snow globe made at home?
My plan is to make a snow globe made in house as an art project and crafts and decorations I have read – the Christmas – to get inside, but do not know if the paint can be held in the liquid for a long time. Does anyone in the responses Yahoo! know what I can use? I'd rather make my own figure, but if not, does anyone else know where I can buy only they do not relate to Christmas?

As for "frills" to put inside the snow globes, I assume you mean small figures and items that do not, fabric decorations or crystal ball, etc. Most of the figurines and the items will be fine, but some of the paintings or regular shines, etc. may bleed over time, and some metal oxide could … and everything I use must be waterproof (glass, metal, plastic).
