Things that go bump in the night
Dark clouds gathered over the city on that particular night. I remember it well because the street lights which usually occurred at 9:30 pm in the summer months, came in an hour and a half before the evening. The night was with us.
Then came the rains, and rains the deafening roar of the heavens opening imploding flashes of light and darkness. Being home alone that night would have been perfect had the weather remained kind, but it felt like tonight would be a night where the fire of hell broke loose on earth. There may be something in the garage I thought. But the lightning flashed through the cracks of the garage door and heavy rough to the front, struck a deep fear in my soul. "Very good! "I said to myself in the dark crest. Silhouettes and shadows moving flooded the front room of this old house as the lightning fired more shots. There was only one thing to do I said to myself. "House", which then climbed a flight of wooden stairs. The windows on upper floors of the house were closed and even if the ground floor was intermittent light and with occasional flash, I could not see anything here. I seemed to be the face of what appeared to be a boiler deeper darkness, deeper madness, as the storm raged on. Without a second thought at a time when children's insecurity and fear, I had my arm in front of I ran to my room and dive into bed. As she lay motionless, I heard the howling wind. The rain lashes that gave him beat on the walls of the house and the front of the garage doors. And then, as soon as the rains had come, he was gone. Now in complete pitch black darkness, I was in the hands a fear that is worse, a world of darkness and near silence. Grandfather's Clock intervened once to ring in half after the hour. I could not be sure what time it was, but the sound of a ticking clock in the room seemed to get stronger down. That and the water dripping from the outside, apparently tried to compete by silence vacuum inside the house. Then came other sounds while still in my bed. I held my breath to make sure I could clearly hear sounds new. They were stolen sounds coming from the garage. Fear gripped me, I could not move. What could be there? Who? What? How? These were the questions that began to haunt my mind. Suddenly, the silence was broken by the eerie sound of the television blasting in life and light filled the house again. Apparatus of new and modern 20th century seemed to blow the uniqueness of creepy old house. And finally filled with a sense of relief. But noise, what was that? Had stopped. I decided to investigate the garage …
