It was 6 am and went by bicycle to the paradise of bird watchers in a foggy morning, cold December. It was early morning, and it was a great hustle and bustle of the waters.I was hypnotized to see the variety of bird life gathered in one place, ie Keoladeo Ghana National Park (KGNP). I left my camera work and concentrated on a lonely stork endangered Black-necked, who was hunting in shallow water near the road alongwith a group of magnificent spoon bills.These two species are clear examples of the creativity of nature. After 2-3 hours busy photo-session, decided to rest and breakfast we brought with us. Then move on to explore other areas of the park.
Along the way, we saw the water pumping machines installed by the park authorities to maintain adequate water levels. The park is facing severe water shortages and their consequences evident when large companies saw dead fish in the water. We arrived at an ancient temple of the local deity called Keoladeo.The park derives its name from this deity who is worshiped by the local population. Historically this area was the hunting ground of Maharaja of Bharatpur.KGNP deviations found in Delhi-Agra-Mathura road road, which is about two hours from the state capital, Delhi and Bharatpur is about 34 km from here.We taken to a place where one pair of Siberian cranes. I liked the view customer standing near his native Sarus cranes cousin.
The park was filled with immense variety of birds. Officially more than 300 species visit bird life, inhabit this small oasis of life.This is truly a paradise for birdwatchers and a large conglomerate of the wide variety of exotic migratory birds from all over the world. The migration of birds is a unique and wonderful phenomenon where many birds traveled thousands of miles with newborns to reach their winter stays fixed. This is an annual phenomenon that has baffled scientists who have provided various theories to explain this. KGNP is a historic landmark in this context. It is a place for ornithologists, amateur observers birds, trigger-happy people like us and ordinary nature lovers.
The beauty of the park is the prohibition all types of vehicles. Only rickshaws and bicycles are allowed inside the park.It is very easy to get a bike daily charges of Rs.40-50 which is provided by the hotels and lodging. In addition, rickshaws are available at low rates and these rickshaw drivers can also act as guides. There are a number of hotels, lodging available at bargain prices near the entry point KGNP. The place is accessible by bus and rail. Best time to visit is November to February. This place deserves a visit.
